An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that locals spotted the body floating in the water and immediately informed the police. A police team from Hazratbal Police Station reached the spot and retrieved the body. He said the woman appears to be around 39–40 years old. The body has been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities and identification.
